The Terrafugia Transition flying car got its first big public demonstration at the EAA AirVenture Oshkosh show, where a crowd of people witnessed a 20 minute presentation that included the conversion from airplane to car, driving on the ground, and then aerial maneuvers above the show.
The Transition is a two-seater street-legal airplane that can drive on the the highway, fly through the skies, and then fit inside of a single car garage (once the wings are folded).
“The Transition® brings a new level of freedom, flexibility, and fun to personal aviation by combining driving and flying in one state-of-the-art vehicle. Glass cockpit avionics, carbon fiber construction, and innovative mechanisms make the Transition® easy and fun to fly, drive, and convert. A steering wheel and gas and brake pedals on the ground make it familiar to drive while a stick and rudder pedals provide responsive control in flight.”
