Designs in gadgets and technology have definitely become more space-saving during the years. However, sometimes the only thing that is lost isn’t the product’s floor space.
Often left behind is a presentation that makes gear visually appealing.
One interesting take on technology design is a multimedia player that is attempting to bridge this gap called Qleek.
It is a method for media storage that can play music and movies, and also works as a photo album, holds books, playlists, videos and stores files.
Designed to liven up the look of digital libraries and sound systems, this project lets you have both the physical, in the design and image, but still has all the benefits of being digital and doesn’t take up tons of space.
Made from wood, Tapps hold and play the content that can be automatically uploaded, is changeable, shareable and can be personalized.
It is wireless and doesn’t even require a computer or app download.
The Tapps work with the player, and the Qleek comes to life through nearly any choice of speaker systems or various screens.
Referred to as the Hive, the bookshelf is where the Qleek hangs out. The bookshelves can store up to 7 different Tapps, which are mobile and can be attached to other systems.
The bookshelf is a magnetic display board, and personal favorites and hand selected attributes, both visual and auditory, can be chosen. The Tapps have different covers for various looks, either put on from a personal image collection or from a pre-selection.
The way the item and content is set up is reportedly easy to use and largely convenient. A strategic plus for the developers, as all gear works together so everything has to be purchased in order to create the total experience.
However, it is definitely an interesting concept, combining our incessant need for staying connected but approaching it with a more aesthetical and individualized style is something we will hopefully see more of in the world of technology design.
