When you run out of juice for your mobile devices, and the nearest outlet is miles away, what are you gonna do?

If you own a Powerpot, you’ll just start cooking your meal, and turn some of the heat from your stove into a charge for your gadget.

Weighing just 12 ounces, this little device is one of the lightest methods of providing a charge on the go, and can be used with any heat source, including a camp fire.

“The PowerPot is a thermoelectric generator designed to work with a wide variety of stoves and fuel sources. It turns your backpacking pot into a generator that can run on propane, butane, alcohol, gasoline, diesel, isopropane, wood, or virtually any other fuel you may cook on.” – Powerpot

The Powerpot thermoelectric generator can be used to charge any USB handheld device, and will charge a cell phone in as little as one hour. It puts out 5 watts of power, and can be used night or day, rain or shine.

The base device costs about $150, or you can purchase it as a bundle with a rechargeable 1800 mAh lithium-ion battery (total $169) to store that energy for later use.
