Cold Fusion Reactor Claims to Have 10,000X the Energy Density of Gasoline

Is it possible that an Italian engineer’s cold fusion project, which has been vilified in energy and tech circles, could actually produce clean energy as claimed?

Cold fusion, or Low Energy Nuclear Reaction (LENR) devices are considered by many to be the domain of scammers and hoaxers, and are claimed to be complete bunk, but that hasn’t stopped the research. In fact, cold fusion projects may be just hitting their stride, if the data from a test on an Italian cold fusion device bears out.

According to various reports on the web, the operation of Andrea Rossi and Sergio Focardi’s “E-Cat” (Energy Catalyzer) device was verified by an independent group of scientists, and was found to not only pass muster from them, but to also be capable of an energy density that is 10,000 times that of gasoline.

The E-Cat device is said to generate energy through heating hydrogen gas and nickel, while in the presence of a proprietary catalyst. With the introduction of the gas and heat, the nickel is transformed into copper and releases a large amount of heat – supposedly more than twice what was put into the system from an outside energy source.

The results of the investigation, which has not gone through the peer review process yet, are published here: Indication of anomalous heat energy production in a reactor device.
