Benefits of Coconut Oil

Dry skin, a cut, or dirty hair?  Try some coconut oil.  Coconut oil offers many health benefits and here are some reasons why you should try it.

1.  Skin Care:  Coconut oil has been a proven moisturizer for all skin types.  It will leave your body looking refreshed and wide awake.  The fat in the oil helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles without any irritation.  Coconut oils can also help with various skin conditions.  In fact, the oil is frequently used in expensive skin care products.

2.  Stress Relief:  You’re having another long Monday at school or the office, your bank account is low and you get home and your shoes have become your dog’s chew toy.  You can relieve some of that mental fatigue by applying coconut oil to the head in a circular massaging motion.  The natural aroma of the coconuts, along with a gentle massage is said to be extremely soothing thus helping lower your stress level.

3.  Digestion:  The saturated fats in coconut oil have anti-bacterial properties that help control parasites and fungi that cause indigestion.  The fat in the oil also aids in important absorption of vitamins, minerals, and amino acids.

4.  Healing:  When coconut oil is applied on scrapes and cuts, the oil protects the wound from outside bacteria and virus. Coconut oil also speeds up the healing process of bruises by repairing damaged tissues.

5.  Fitness:  Coconut oil is extremely popular in the fitness world as of late.  It is said to be the only natural low-calorie fat.   Coconut oil has been proven to stimulate your metabolism, improve thyroid function, and increase energy levels.  All of which can help decrease unwanted fat and increase muscle growth.

Coconut oil is rich in nutrients, fiber, vitamins and minerals.  It reduces health risk of diabetes by improving insulin and blood glucose functions.  It builds strong teeth and bones by improving calcium and magnesium absorption.  The lauric acid in coconut oil works as a natural under arm deodorant by killing odor-causing bacteria.  Try some coconut oil today; it is natural and inexpensive.
