Green Smoothies

Green smoothies are a fast growing fad that could see you give off a new glow and have boundless energy!
Packed full of antioxidants, green smoothies are natures youth elixir. A great start to the day and a perfect alternative for an afternoon snack.

Below are some ideas to get you started, however there are endless options and it is always up to your preferred tastes.   Place all ingredients in a blender and serve immediately. If too thick add some filtered water to the blending process.

Vitamin Booster

½ bunch Kale – high in beta carotene, vitamin k, vitamin c, calcium amd magnesium. It has anti-cancer properties and aids in cell repair.
1 Lemon, juiced – high in vitamin c and a natural anti-oxidant. Fights free-radicals and is anti-inflammatory.
1 Banana – high in potassium and fibre
½ bunch of Parsley – a cleanser for the liver, kidneys and blood. Rich in vitamin C, vitamin B and folic acid. Excellent diuretic. Maintains healthy eyes. High in iron and chlorophyll.
1 carrot – rich in vitamins B, C, D, E, K and beta-carotene. Great for eyesight. Anti-inflammatory properties. Rich in minerals.

Immunity Booster

1 carrot – rich in vitamins B, C, D, E, K and beta-carotene. Great for eyesight. Anti-inflammatory properties. Rich in minerals.
1 Grapefruit – High levels of Vitamin C, B and E for the immune system. Helps with the liver, digestive problems and skin problems. Minerals include calcium, iron, phosphorous and potassium.
1 Chunk of peeled Ginger – anti-biotic for the whole body which reduces congestion and mucous production. Fights the common cold and flu. Anti-inflammatory. Vitamin C and minerals.
½ bunch Spinach – high in iron, vitamin B, C and K. Aids digestion and vision. Maintains healthy blood vessels. Supports kidney and liver function.

Ultimate Cleanse

½ cup of Wheatgrass – a powerful cleanser and detoxifier of blood and liver. Strengthens the immune system and is anti-ageing. Vitamins B, C, E, K, folic acid, B17 and beta-carotene. High in minerals, chlorophyll and magnesium.
½ bunch of Coriander Leaves – Aids the liver and digestion. Break down fats and toxins in the body. Reduces stomach problems such as gas and cramps. Vitamins B, C and folic acid. Minerals include potassium, sodium and magnesium.
Pineapple – anti-inflammatory properties. Great for digestion. Mild laxative and diuretic properties. Aids weight loss.
