A Concept Design Committed To Nature And The Senses

Concept designs can be innovative, fun and visually inviting.

One over the top idea for a home by the sea is from Martin Ferrero Architecture. Called Xálima, this model for a multilevel mansion is pretty amazing.

According to the design team, this is architecture that is committed to the senses and nature.

Hugging into the side of a hefty cliff and enveloped in living greenery, the idea for the home’s foundation is a bit out of the ordinary, to say the least.

The cliff backdrop and adjacent waters are important as they complement the surrounding area of the residence. Trying not be overly obtrusive to the elements, the positioning of the home takes the neighboring sea into account and the structure seems to somehow blend into the side of the enormous mountaintop.

As if the sea views are not enough, there is also a ritzy pool that seems to carry on into the majestic outdoors. Even the relaxing and swim areas seem to tip a hat to the natural surroundings as they travel alongside the water.

There are strategically placed overhangs which enable shading below and helps with the temperature by keeping the spaces underneath them cooler.

Lots of plant life incorporated around the home makes the imaginative space feel even more connected to nature. Living plants also serve as privacy walls for several spots in the home.

The green roofs provide unbelievable areas to enjoy the sprawling organic landscape. The open plan is set for allowing tons of sunlight to filter into each level, and lots of relaxing ambient light is available.

Massive rooms and an open floor plan on several levels are interesting to look at, and a bit hard to imagine living in, but that is the fun of concept designs.

Other interesting conceptual works from Martin Ferrero Architecture include several solar architecture models. Various notions for buildings and everyday structures provide some pretty fascinating glimpses into what a world more in tune with solar energy could offer in future designs.
