Whether having a home office or having to bring work home, a spot to accomplish it all is nice to have.
Kevin Young, one of the team at Pmk+Designers, created his own space in Kaohsiung, Taiwan to do just that. The following apartment renovation project factored in the days where being in busy mode is a must.
Since the designer’s apartment was a rental, the renovation was done with a budget in mind.
The space has an industrial office feel and an efficient layout. The different zones are set up to direct productivity, but there are also places for taking a break.
The open main room and large windows grab the eyes and the subtle color creates a calm feeling.
Lots of concealed storage keeps everything in its place.
The living room and connected area with a large table can be used as a dining space, meeting table or place for spreading out work and tackling projects.
A neat hidden function is revealed when the table top is lifted. Transforming into a makeup studio or other lighted surface area, the clever multifunction unit can be used for business by day and noshing at night.
With a balance of relaxation and work, the balcony even has a spot for getting work done (or pretending to).
