Small homes can include of range of unexpected features. The following are residences that may be smaller in square footage, but are over the top in unorthodox concepts.
This scaly looking chunk of a house called Hus-1 is from designer Torsten Ottesjö, who also constructed the micro home.
Trying to capture all that nature has to offer, it is a perplexing slab of architecture.
Have a look at the unusual home:
This house is a replication of nature itself, according to the designer, and it was intended to be a comfortable space.
Though small in scale it includes all of the basic amenities, although it looks a little more like a shed design. At only 25 square meters, it is also mobile and has a free standing base.
Without filling the house with materials, its strange, curved shape actually lends to an orderly and open area. Playing with residential boundaries, the different wood materials were incorporated in the construction as a sustainable choice, but also as a weather-withstanding option.
The large plated window and various textures used throughout the build adds to the organic feel.

From architect Massimiliano Mandarini, the Green Kinder House is quite different than the naturally colored and formed house above.
This bright and colorfully manufactured residence is a 2 level conceptual production for an environmentally friendly design.
Take a showroom tour:
Completely energy efficient, it also includes multifunctional furniture pieces, a green rooftop and an extended patio outdoor living area for additional versatility.

Though both smaller structures, the differences in these homes are huge.
